Honoring Padre Pio’s Legacy in San Giovanni Rotondo
“My dear children, I thank you with all my heart for the gift of your generosity, for your sacrifices, for your interest and help.” – Padre Pio
As part of our mission to preserve the sacred places of Padre Pio’s life and ministry, PPFOA has supported several vital projects in San Giovanni Rotondo. In the Saint Pio of Pietrelcina Church—built to accommodate the growing number of pilgrims—we funded the entire baptistry, a space where the faithful are welcomed into Christ as Padre Pio once welcomed souls in confession.
We also supported the friary where Padre Pio lived, helping to care for the infirm friars who continue his legacy of prayer and service. In addition, we replaced the windows in Mary Pyle’s home—a spiritual daughter of Padre Pio whose house now offers comfort and rest to pilgrims.
We are open Monday – Friday from 8:30 AM until 4:30 PM (EST) and the First Saturday of each month from 9:00 AM until 2:00 PM unless it coincides with a national holiday.
